Le mystère demeure sur les conditions exactes du décès de Justine Owoundi. Le corps de l’adolescente, élève en classe de 4e au lycée d’Ekounou, a été découvert mercredi après midi dans une valise. C’était dans la chambre qu’occupait son petit ami, au domicile familial à Ekounou. Yannick E., puisqu’il s’agit de lui, a depuis mercredi matin disparu sans laisser de trace. Selon Thierry E., frère aîné du fugitif, c’est un coup de fil qui annonce la macabre nouvelle vers midi. Depuis sa cachette, Yannick E., 25 ans, apprend à sa famille par message téléphonique que sa petite amie décédée se trouve dans sa chambre.

Thierry et un ami de la famille se rendent à la maison qu’ils avaient quittée le matin. Une forte odeur s’en dégage déjà. Et dans la chambre, ils découvrent dans une grande valise, le corps recroquevillé de l’adolescente. Après avoir alerté la police et la gendarmerie, la dépouille est conduite avec l’aide de la famille de la jeune fille à la morgue de l’Hôpital central de Yaoundé.

Selon des révélations faites à son frère par Yannick E., la jeune fille est morte des suites d’un malaise. « Il déclare que la fille ne se sentait pas bien. Peu après, son état est allé de mal en pis », révèle Thierry. Une autre thèse veut pourtant que Justine soit décédée des suites d’une altercation avec le jeune homme. « Elle était venue lui apprendre qu’elle était enceinte et ça a dégénéré », déclare un ami de Yannick, élève dans un établissement privé proche du lieu du drame.

Ce dernier affirme toutefois qu’il doit s’agir d’un accident, car son ami était plutôt calme. Du côté de la famille de la jeune fille, on préfère laisser le soin aux enquêtes de révéler la cause de la mort. Le commissaire de police Mezang Oyono, tuteur de Justine, note toutefois que l’état de la tête et du bras cassé, laisse penser qu’elle a reçu un choc. Il hébergeait sa nièce depuis trois mois, pour tenter de refreiner les escapades de la jeune fille.

Ces derniers jours, Yannick était apparu un peu pensif, selon son frère aîné. De son côté, le commissaire Mezang Oyono dit n’avoir rien noté d’anormal chez sa fille. Il ignorait également qu’elle avait l’habitude de dormir chez son petit ami, avec qui elle entretenait une relation depuis dix mois environ. Aux dernières nouvelles, de source familiale, le jeune homme envisage de se rendre à l’enquêteur chargé de l’affaire au commissariat d’Ekounou.
